What a day…. The DK bookended everything and was held in the crappest conditions imaginable… fckn pathetic…

But in between the Mens and Womens were held and they had the better of conditions and surfed accordingly… There were some amazing heats with Jeff Hubb the standout

IBA GQS Day 2

Well.. after a promising day yesterday the weather turned absolutely foul today.

The organisers sent the first round of the womens comp out in what I can only call 3ft wash throughs. It was a very hard paddle out and the waves were pathetic… much like the organisers decision to put the women on in such conditions.

The men went out after the tide turned and conditions cleaned up a bit on the run out tide. After about an hour the heavens opened up and it rained quite solidly for several hours which made for horrible conditions for surfers and spectators alike.

Hopefully we get better conditions for the DK event tomorrow.

I came down to Port Mac in time for the second day of the Teams Challenge 2012.

It was held in less then ideal conditions but the competitors all made it look so easy…
