Surf Art

I have been doin a few boards for the upcoming surfboard art exhibition lately and been checking out alot of different surf art and thought it might make a good thread, always good to see stuff instaed of just reading…please post any art you have on ya boards or even cool stuff off the net you have seen, or old boards etc…..

a guy who does some art for me did this MP tribute which is goin on an MP# design of mine, with Volan cloth and old school resin pinlines, and full polish, should look the goods…My son has done one also, should be a good show, its at the surf museum and starts 3rd Sept but showing for a few weeks I think, you can buy the boards too…

this isnt for the show, its for a guy who shapes a few boards, my son did it and has actually got a few requests for decals now, its good for him and a few dollars pocket money too…looking forward to seeing any art you guys post…should be more coour and art on surf craft imho , afterall its an individual and creative thing we do so why not get creative on the things we ride….

One of my fave pieces of surf art was the dragon on a Mark Richards twin I had back in the mid eighties, no personal pics and can't find any pics on the net. Damn fine little piece. Some high tech work under the glass of the firing local lads these days.

thats Cains handywork, it was for a grommy I sponsor who lies at Sunrise Beach….it was bit wierd, its kinda his style but dont know where it came from, its almost got an indigenous look about it but its proven popular, he did one on a board for TC too…..

well we went to the Surf Art show and it was very cool. Cain got first place in the school aged section which was a big buzz for him and proud Dad and Mum. MP was there and it was cool to see him in real life….it was a great event and the guys and gals from the museum did a great job, every surfer should go and have a look at the museum which is right near the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary…..
